A Little Bit About Us...

Here at Tiny Paws (located in Quinte West, ON) we breed for personal goals while also helping to educate others, and always learning more ourselves! We began with our first litter in October 2024 after becoming smitten with rats over the years. We love to learn more about rats and the community and always looking to improve. We are a registered AFRMA member as of October 2025.

We have two websites available for public use. Both can be used to contact us and view our rats but they do serve different purposes.

This page is more geared towards other rattery's and breeders so that they can see the lineage of our rats, previous and future pairings, etc. It will have less frequent posts and updates compared to the other page as it's main purpose is just tracking our lines. Helps breeders to see a visual and/or written PDF printable generation tracker. View on each rat's individual profiles.

The adopter-friendly page (tinypawsrattery.ca) will have the blog updates, pet and breeder rat updates/photos, etc.

Both will have access to all the same links, therefore it does not matter if you used this page or the other to view your future rats!

The rats we breed are to promote health and the overall appearance of rats. And most importantly for us we want you to get snuggly babies to take home! Temperament is a huge thing for us and we always want to hear about how our rats behaviours change as they grow. For our first 3 generations of each new line we ask that adopters stay in contact for (and up to) 3 months after adoption to see how rats behaviour changes as they grow. This will bring them to 5-6 months old and "adult" age and will allow us to have more well-rounded knowledge of our lines. This is not mandatory and you can opt out of this, but if you are open to communication, we'd love to hear! Each rat from new lines will be posted with their generation until after gen 3 when we are more comfortable with our knowledge coming from that line.
