We always try to find the best possible home and environment for our pups. Due to various reasons, not all applicants are a good fit and some are not selected.
These rats are all bred to be pets and not feeder rats. We do not mind breeding of our rats so long as you are up front about it and have their best intentions in mind. More will be discussed on this matter in the adoption link below.
BEFORE FILLING OUT:
CAGE POLICY. Cage arrangements must be made prior to adoption. You do not need to have a cage purchased or owned when filling out the form (pre-approval) but proof of cage must be sent when confirming an adoption. The reason we allow this is because we want to ensure rats have the right cage with proper enrichment. Whether you're just starting out or an experienced owner we are here for you. We can give reccomendation to cages for first timers as well as our preferences; if you have ordered a cage and it has not been delivered by the time of filling out application you can send proof of purchase (a receipt with any personal info blacked out) just to show that you will have something arranged by time of adoption.
BREEDING POLICY. Breeding is allowed but within reason. You should not breed just to make money off of the rats as it is more of a hobby and less of a profit business. However, if you are wanting to breed ethically that is allowed, we hold no rights over our rats after they are purchased and removed from our home. We recommend you do not do anything without the proper research and guidance but at the end of the day our control ends at our door so it is up to you to keep rats responsibly. There are no breeding contracts. As for those purchasing breeding stock, we do place a limit on two breeder rats with max two litters per rat. This again, is just for any first 3 generations of a new line as we do not want you to breed rats that we no longer see fit to be producers of a line. Breed from the first 3 generations at your own discretion as we will be learning more of their temperment and health together.
RESERVATION POLICY. Rats will need a 50% non-refundable deposit to hold. Must be picked up within a week of purchase or from their release date (8 weeks old). If you need us to extend your rats stay here due to scheduling conflicts, it is a $10/week to house (per mischief you buy not each rat individually). We require a deposit to prevent backing out as often as well as it helps to house the pups while they are at our rattery. The deposit comes off your final total on pickup/delivery day; amount to be paid in full before pickup. If rats are placed on hold and we do not receive your deposit within 3 business days they will be taken off hold and made available to the public.
RETURN POLICY. We will take back any rat(s) adopted out from us within the first 3 months of their rehoming date regardless of the reason, just reach out to us. This date will be put on their paperwork that goes home with you. After the 3 months we will only accept returns due to rehoming issues you may have, any issues with your rat(s), allergies to them, etc. Any ILL rat may not be permitted to return as they need medical attention from you as their owner and that should be dealt with and not just surrendered back to us. If you are not prepared to deal with any possible medical fees that come with owning rats then do not adopt. We do not at this time offer end of life care for rats purchased from us but we are looking into having that set up for adopters.
Lastly, we offer local delivery to the Ottawa area for $15. Can also do meet-up locations for same; pickup is free.

Once your application is submitted and signed, you have agreed to these terms and conditions regarding adoptions and will be held accordingly (as will we).
